Imposter Syndrome, the feeling that, no matter what, you’re where you are by accident, that you are a fraud on the verge of being discovered, is prevalent in every field. Even the most assured waver into Imposter Syndrome from time to time. But, more often than not, Imposter Syndrome is the real fraud. You’re where you deserve to be. You just need a little help remembering. Here are three ways to best the ever-annoying Imposter Syndrome; Review Your Credentials Looking back at what you’ve done to get where you are can help ground you. Remember: almost no one ends up where they are as a fluke. Hard work, dedication, and a little luck have led you to your current situation. 2) Remember We’re All Human Even Albert Einstein, FDR and Babe Ruth woke up every day, brushed their teeth, ate three meals a day. It’s tempting to view some of us as superhuman and the rest of us unworthy. But no one is an exception: we’re all humans, flaws and all. 3) Talk It Out One of the worst parts of Imposter Syndrome is how embarrassing it feels. When you feel like an Imposter, you assume everyone else feels like a natural. But, as I mentioned above, Imposter Syndrome is universal. So talk to your friends, your family. You’ll be surprised at who’s dealt with Imposter Syndrome before.
